Scouting Report: Spring City Restaurant
If you drove past Spring City Restaurant, you might think it was just
another of those family restaurants dotting southeastern Wisconsin.
Actually, it's a lot more. By offering a separate bar, a full lineup
of fresh pizzas and deliveries available to local businesses, owners
Dennis and Peter Hronis hope that their new 185-seat casual restaurant
will fill a niche in the neighborhood. No stranger to the restaurant
business, Dennis Hronis formerly owned Art's in Oconomowoc, a restaurant
that he sold two years ago.
The brothers' original plans were to operate Spring City 24 hours a
day, but they've cut back to round-the-clock operations only on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The restaurant closes at 10 p.m. the
other four nights of the week. The brothers also plan to open a small
patio area in the coming weeks.
Spring City's menu offers everything from sandwiches to steaks and
daily dinner specials that usually are priced under $10. The
restaurant's menu also lists gyros plates and sandwiches, which are the
house specialty.
